[TriLUG] source routing question

Hate to be naïve, but...

Couldn't you just place the host you want to dedicate to the one connection
outside the router and on the inside of the appropriate firewall?

Maybe I'm missing something...

Subject: Re: [TriLUG] source routing question

Tables wouldn't work because that is what we are doing now, if we get
a new route we have to add it to all the firewalls and the internal
router which is very cumbersome. Every linux article I have seen
regarding source-routing involves having to set up another routing
table, this means that for every new route atleast 2 tables need to be
updated, the general routing table and the special table you create,
both have to include the route.
