[TriLUG] "Moving" a running X App from one server to another

Hey Guys,

Is there any way to "move" a running X Application from one X server to
another? I mean, without using, say, vnc. Basically, what I'm trying to
accomplish is I'd like to have GAIM running on my desktop, but "move"
it to my laptop if I'm going to go downstairs. I guess I'm basically
looking for a program like "screen" for X... Or a way to change the
DISPLAY env variable while the program is running. Any thoughts? Thanks
guys!

P.S. My apologies if this has been discussed before... I did a quick
search on the list and didn't turn up much.
