Usually it wil,  but you will need the proper codecs, which are sometimes 
hard to come by.  For a Fedora-based system, a good place to start is:
	http://rpm.livna.org/

For a Mandrake system, I believe the site is called the "Penguin 
Liberation Front."

The mplayer site may have the codecs too (or links to them).
