The request was for a inexpensive backup system. Sure, I'd love a AIT-3 changer
at home with an endless supply of tapes, but that's just not cost-effective for
my home system.
For many (most?) people, large-capacity tape systems are out of the question at
home. Better the HD backup than the most common situation - no backup at all.
