I'd check your IMAP setup first. What IMAP server are you using? Can
you access IMAP with a normal MUA (Thunderbird, Outlook Express, etc.)?
Watch the appropriate log files /var/log/mail.log (log file is the
location in Debian, no idea about other distros, YDMV)
