[TriLUG] how to switch to dual-processor kernel?

Is there an easy way to switch to a dual-processor kernel?  I just
popped a second processor into one of our servers - I expected to see
the boot process recognize the new hardware and do something...but no
joy  :(

Is there a simple process for this - or do I have to know something
about loading/building kernels to make it work?

RHEL3 (CentOS 3.3)
