[TriLUG] haldeamon hangs machine on fedora core 3

I have an anthlon motherboard and have fedora core 3 on it.

Everytime I start up the haldeamon, the machines just locks up after 
about 3 or 4 minutes.  Threre no kernel dumps to the console, and not 
messeges in /var/log/messages.  Does anybody have any ideay of why this 
would be happening?

I have fedora core on two other machines and this behavior does not occur.
