Well I'd already tried that, just tried it again.  It doesn't seem to
make a difference.
Left clicking seems to select the printer before it brings up the context menu.

This is in the Windows XP (home if that matters) Faxes and Printers
window. There seem to be at least three ways to try to delete a
printer.

1) Select it then hit the delete this printer link in the upper left
panel of the window.
2) Select it and hit the delete key.
3) Left click to bring up a context menu and select delete this printer.

All seem to work the same way, first they ask are you sure, then the
printer shows "deleting" under the printer's icon which NEVER seems to
time out. Rebooting just clears the "deleting."
