...but you could create a series of virtual block devices, mounted on loopback, and
implemented on top of a gmailfs.  At least in theory.....

however, I'm not about to try it out while still on dial-up, because
that would be silly. ;-)

gmailfs provides a filesystem abstraction, not a block device
abstraction.  You therefore cannot do RAID with them.
