[TriLUG] ubuntu as a server distro?

would ubuntu be considered stable enough for server use?  meaning, 
highly unlikely to kernel panic for no apparent reason, common server 
apps (apache, postfix, mailman, mysql, postgres, rsyncd, samba, etc) are 
well tested versions and not bleeding edge, that kind of thing. 
obviously i don't care about desktop apps and won't be running X, 
stability is my number one priority.

i've been running it on my laptop for several weeks with no complaints 
and would like to start deploying it on servers when the need arises if 
the concensus on such usage is positive.  thanks all,
