[TriLUG] Jabber server outage

The status of my investigation shows that GAIM is broken for
registration. Despite having a register button, it doesn't even try.
It just tries to auth, obviously fails, and just gives up. According
the RFC and JEP-0077, the jabber server is doing all of its duties, GAIM
just isn't trying to register. Adium, I imagine, suffers from the same
problem. I'll communicate with the jabberd maintainer to see if he has
thoughts about what's wrong, but GAIM's jabber support leaves something
to be desired. Try a non-broken client like Psi. It works on a Mac
too. Other decent clients are Tkabber, Gossip, and maybe Kopete, but I
don't have much experience with them to know if they register properly.
