[TriLUG] mod_proxy + ssl

Is it possible to use a single sever running apache mod_proxy with 
multiple public sub domains and have all the sub domains use ssl with 
one certificate? Or use one public domain and use a combination 
mod_proxy/mod_rewrite soultion?

One of my clients wants to expose several internal application servers 
to their clients and it seems a bit much to buy a different certificate 
for each application server and use so many static IP's as well as open 
up so many ports in the firewall.

Any advice?
