Sorry to get this out so late...

This month's Tri-XML meeting will held at Red Hat's headquarters in
Raleigh, starting at 6:00pm. More info below - hope you can make it...

Info is here: http://www.trixml.org/nextmeeting.shtml

-----------------------------------------------------

Topic: SVG Implementations, Animation, and AJAX.

Speaker: Doug Schepers

Date: Tuesday, November 15.

Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: Red Hat, Raleigh NC

Abstract:

The presentation will discuss the current state of support for SVG in a
Web context (browsers, plugins, etc.), and where it is likely to go.

Firefox 1.5 (due out in December) will have native SVG support, with
scripting, but without SMIL (declarative) animation. Doug released an
Open Source JavaScript library recently that adds SMIL support to
Firefox, Batik, and other SVG implementations. Doug will talk about the
library and how it is intended to help developers.

Part 2 of the talk will cover Animation. Doug will discuss uses of
animation in SVG, both declarative and scripted, with pros and cons of each.

The talk concludes with a discussion on using AJAX in SVG (focusing on
cross-browser support) to build smooth client-server WebApps.

Please RSVP to Mitch Amiano <mitch.amiano at agilemarkup.com> if you
plan to attend this meeting.

Thanks,
Mark
