Back in the 1980s and early 1990s some of us used to say that it stood
for I bought Macintosh.

But then one of my most treasured possesions is a copy of a Digitalk
Smalltalk manual presented to me at the first Digitalk developers
conference, which was signed by all the Digitalk employees and by Alan
Kay who was the keynote speaker, who addressed his autograph to me as
"to the least IBM-like IBMer I've ever met."
