Happy New Year, ya'll!
Now that it's officially 2006, it's time to check on those systems to
see which ones made it through 2005 without a reboot!
Lets see:
Main call server: 9:51am up 278 day(s) - didn't make! :-(
Failover Call srv: 9:48am up 213 day(s) - didn't make it! :-(
Both running Solaris
Main Mail srv: 10:13:10 up 608 days - *almost* a year!
PSTN gateway1: 11:01am up 11 days - that's not good!
PSTN gateway2: 09:55:45 up 194 days - downed for maintenance - darn!
Grns PSTN gw : 09:57:34 up 49 days - darn a55holes in grns...
SIP Gateway : 09:58:59 up 101 days - running since I built it!
New Conf brdg: 10:01:49 up 70 days - running since I built it!
All running various forms of linux
Corp Firewall: 12:08PM up 220 days - Hmmm?
OpenBsd - rebooted it while checking routing problem (colo's fault)
Main switch : 1 year, 6 weeks, 4 days, 11 hours, 34 minutes
Main Dist rtr: 1 year, 2 weeks, 2 days, 9 hours, 31 minutes
Both Cisco
Looks like only my faithful Cisco systems made it through 2005
unscathed! Not that I'm complaining. My Linux systems bare most of the
burdens on my network and they handled the beatings better than anything
else I could put in there.
Still, I'm counting on my Mail server (Mandrake), SIP Gateway (CentOS),
and New Conference bridge (CentOS) to make it all the way through 2006
without a reboot!
And I'm *never* going to believe my colo again when it comes to a
routing problem... So that OpenBSD firewall *will* make it through 2006
unscathed!
Everyone have a safe and prosperous New Year!
