[TriLUG] Gmail slow?

Actually, gmail has been running better than normally for me of late.

It's never been what I'd call speedy. I access it mostly from an older
256MB laptop.

Some might remember that I was looking at my wifi performance a week
or so ago.  Yesterday, I finally realized that I've been running a 386
kernel on this Celeron laptop.  I installed a 686 kernel, and the
whole machine seems just a tad snappier, but gmail seemed to have
picked up before then.
