[TriLUG] centOS 4.2 install on Promise RAID-1

Does CentOS 4.2 support installing to RAID-1 using
the promise fasttrack tX2200 SATA raid controller?

Is there another RAID controller available locally (that
I can pick up this weekend) that has better support?

Is there a better distribution choice ( for supporting
RAID).  The box is a Supermicro x5dal ( no onboard sata)
and to be used for web, email, LAMP, php-live, and
ARIA ( an account app).

I like the idea of using sw raid over hw raid for the
reasons mentioned in the 'raid cards' thread.  Does
Redhat/CentOS support an install straight to SW
RAID1?
