Note, btw, that not all kernel contributors agree with Linus.  Linus
apparently added
the v2 only language for version 2.4.0-test8 [1] and Alan Cox believes
that it was
not done with other kernel contributors permission and therefore only affects
Linus's contributions [2].  More info about the entire thing can be
