The more general term is a swap meet, although swapfest is the term
preferred by Ham radio clubs.

Think of a flea market with mostly electronics stuff.  There are two
traditional ones held annually in the Raleigh area. The big one is
part of the RARS Hamfest and is held at the NC State Fairgrounds

The Cary event is usually a more intimate affair.

In this case Al seems to be responding to an e-mail about last years
Cary event which must have fallen through a wormhole.
