No, if you read it all, they were trying to trademark

UNIX SYSTEMS LABORATORIES

which is different from just UNIX, which I believe is trademarked
separately.  (Of course, the USPTO trademark search at
http://www.uspto.gov/main/profiles/acadres.htm is returning
an error right now, so I can't check for sure.)
