Cisco's expanding the Linux development and testing groups (focused on
Linux & virtualization as used in non-router products) at the RTP
campus.  The descriptions below pertain to two of several positions
which will be opening up over the next couple of weeks.

Positions' Responsibilities:
      Member of technical development engineering participating on a
      program chartered with developing a set of Linux based reference
      platforms for both appliance applications products and embedded
      systems.  Requires use of a strong skills in software design and
      architecture, creative "out of the box" solutions, documentation
      and excellent implementation execution.


Technical Skills Position 1:

      Required:
	Solid Unix administration skills, Linux a plus
	Basic Linux experience
	Excellent shell scripting skills: php, bash, & perl; python a plus
	Good build and source code control experience
	Advanced technical education (BSEE/CS) or equivalent with 5+ years exp.
	Excellent teamwork and communication skills

      Desired:
	Experienced Linux administration
	Experience building packages (RPM, deb, etc.)
	Experience building Linux distributions
	Competent to expert C/C++ programming skills
	Network programming ( sockets, server/client )
	Makefile experience
	Source code control experience (e.g., CVS, Subversion, Clearcase, etc.)

      Required:
	Experience building packages
	Experience building Linux distributions
	Competent to expert C/C++ programming skills

	Advanced technical education (BSEE/CS) or equivalent with 9+ years exp.
	Excellent teamwork and communication skills

	Network programming ( sockets, server/client )
	Makefile experience
	Source code control experience

Personal Interaction Required Skills:
      Clear and concise written and verbal communication, team, and
      people skills, with ability to interact at all levels.  Shares

      with client groups in a team setting, taking ownership of
      objectives to achieve business results. Listens carefully to
