It sounds like you might be best served with one of the VPS packages
that you can find these days.  I've had good luck with tektonic (
http://www.tektonic.net/ ) and viviotech (
http://www.viviotech.net/hosting_vps.cfm ).  I believe both of their
VPS accounts come with a LAMP stack installed...and they have control
panels (cPanel and CP+) that can be used to install other software.
