Thanks to everyone who offered a ride, but I went to the surgeon this
morning and he cleared me to drive myself as long as I had someone
ride with me the first time to check me out.

So my brother, who'd come down from CT for a few days and had taken me
to the doctor let me drive his rental car back home, and officially
signed off on my check-ride.

So I'll be able to get myself to the meeting after all.
