It's not open source but a good product, not to badly priced either is
CommuniGate Pro. It will integrate with Outlook completely. One of
the few products I've seen with a fully working MAPI connector. It's
not free but it sure is better than Exchange. I have run it in some
fairly large setups with outstanding success. If you would like more
