Heh. Well then I should say: Strange to me.

amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such device.

So the drivers aren't seeing it... right?

I am going to try the OSS sb driver tonight, I think, and remove the 
ALSA drivers
 so they don't try to grab it.

Anyone have a tip on the lspci -vv output of these lines:

Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 0
Region 0: I/O ports at 1000 [disabled] [size=32]

What does that disabled flag mean exactly?
