LVM is a rather thin mapping layer.  Its overhead is probably quite
negligible, especially on today's hardware. But there's no better way
to determine how it will perform in your particular
situation than to try it yourself.  It's quite simple to set up.

If you still want to see benchmarks of various quality, google: lvm
benchmark OR overhead
