I think you'd be better off flashing your router, and changing it
afterward. I'm not a fan of stock f/w on the Linksys routers anyhow.

In days of old we used to hack into these using hex editors. Generally
the message is stored in the binary and modification of the text itself
should not affect the operation of the binary.
Of course finding the binary that is delivering this message is left up
to you and some persistent grepping!
