[TriLUG] ubuntu: 6.10 desktop, 6.06 server, ooffice 2.0, nfs

all,

the answer was rpc.statd. the nfs server already had it running. all that it
took on the client was an 'apt-get install nfs-common'. works like a charm,
now.
