This post spurred me to attempt ubuntu 7.04 on my beater Dell Inspiron 8000
laptop.
A dual-boot [XP/ubuntu 6.10] sytem, I could never get previous versions to
run my wifi
card, even though the PCMCIA ethernet card worked.

Well, I am more than happy to say that I am online with my laptop due to
the new 7.04 install. It now runs my Atheros-based card flawlessly!

Yes, the Windoze partition is now gone.
