[TriLUG] saving extended partition info

I save the first 512bytes of a disk (the mbr) with dd 
thinking it had my partition table. According to

http://www.partimage.org/Partimage-manual_Usage

I'm only saving the primary partition info. To save the 
extended partition info it seems I need sfdisk.

Anyone know if this is true?

Anyone know how to look at the 512 byte dd file to see what 
partition info it does have?
