KDE + http://extragear.kde.org/apps/kiosktool/
That should do everything you want. locking down everything + url
restrictions
I've got some kiosks doing exactly they same type of thing you are talking
about. They're set up to autologin and launch konq upon boot and only access
a local intranet.
The people using them don't even know it's Linux.
