I got the advice off of an older episode of the American Radio podcast
at http://americanradioshow.us which is more of a
patriot/libertarian/constitutionalist kind of talk show.
A listener of that show took on Best Buy and ended up getting the bag
checking goon security policy removed by their corporate management as a
result of a confrontation like mine where the police ended up getting
involved (eventually siding with the SHOPPER and not the STORE MANAGER).

I'm personally tired of my civil liberties being whittled away. I'm
going to start taking them back.
After doing some research I found it is perfectly legal to carry a
pistol in plain sight on your hip in NC. You don't need a permit. In
fact, any law requiring a permit would be against the state constitution
(per a state supreme court decision that I don't have handy to cite at
the moment). I'm tired of hiding my gun under my clothes like I'm
ashamed of it or something, and asking for permission (permit) to
exercise a right granted in the state & federal constitutions.

Please don't be. Take your civil liberties back! The "ACLU" certainly
isn't going to do it for you (they pick & chose what civil liberties
they defend and which ones they are willing to give away). You're going
to have to do it for yourself.
