[TriLUG] JOB? - create customized distro

Ok, so I've pursued rPath, and after speaking with them, it's clear they
don't provide quite what we need. While they _can_ provide a customized
distro, they can _not_ provide a customized BOOTABLE distro (a la Knoppix).

So I come back to seek the WOTL again:

Part of our application is a Java app with a command-line interface that
can run on Linux. The installer is really a glorified unzip process to
lay down the JVM and our software. What we are looking for is a
bootable linux disk with our software on it. I'm thinking it would
boot into single-user mode and then start our software - so that the user
can see the command-line output from our application (and interact with
it, when necessary). It could be pretty stripped-down compared to knoppix,
since there is no need for X or any GUI apps.

If you know of anyone who has the experience and/or the inclination to do
this kind of work for us, we'd like to get in contact with them!
Or if you know of a group/forum where this question is better suited, that
would be great, too.

TIA,
Chris
