[TriLUG] Nokia 770 Linux-based Internet Tablet on woot.com for$129.99

Man, I think I'm gonna get one of these. Have you tried this wifi software on it yet? http://www.devicescape.com/pub/. Supposedly it works on the 770.

Even though it's not very high-powered, I haven't read any reviews yet that suggest it can't handle VOIP, streaming media, etc. That's a killer price for that much functionality. Seeing that it will connect to a FON router as well, you could conceivably have near-instant worldwide WiFi VOIP for free. The only drawback seems to be the 1GB MicroSD limitation. Any idea if it will recognize a 2GB or higher MicroSD card?

http://maemo.org/community/wiki/ApplicationCatalog has a list of
applications that can be installed

As for using the 770 as a media player, its pretty light in the CPU
and RAM departments, so I'm not sure how well that would work. I use
it for web surfing and as a really fancy remote control for my home
music server. Before I got hooked on google maps on my cell phone I
used maemo mapper a lot.

If you have an orb server up I would be happy to try accessing it with
my 770 and let you know how it works.
