Does the camera have a firewire connection? That'd be the optimal way -
it's a very standardized solution for piping video into the computer and
most editing suites should have some way to pull it in. Firewire cards
are cheap.

If it doesn't, the next best thing would probably be to pick up a nice
TV capture card (which typically have , and then you can use it for home
movies *and* MythTV :D
While I've never done this myself, it seems Hauppage cards are
well-supported.
