Cool case. I wonder if that Via is fanless? My beef with lots of 1U
stuff is all the noise.

Cost wise, you're better off with a dedicated appliance if time is worth
anything.

If you are mounting it in a rack you could go with something like this:

It is probably only an inch or two deeper than a normal size switch,  
it has room for a HD, a PCI card, and it looks to have a mount for a  
front accessible PCMCIA card.
