[TriLUG] TWC latency issues

TWC recently implemented Packeteers from what I understand.  Among other
things they will allow bandwidth provisioning for different protocols and
ports.  Very effective.. too damn effective if you ask me.  I've really seen
a difference when downloading the latest Ubuntu ISOs.

All things considered, TWC, at least out in Youngsville where I live isn't
so bad.  It's much better then the Outer Banks where we can only get Charter
and the "fast" speed is 3 down/1 up.  Ick.

To that matter I started to get much, much better network performance when I
upgraded my cable modem to a Cisco 671 with a built-in DOCSIS interface.
