So far my experiences with Ubuntu (kubuntu actually), have been okay. A
few things that have angered me have been the "legal" pieces that
prevent you from installing some things. 

I've also had issues with some packages not showing up in Add/Remove
programs, but they show up in adept_manager.

I love my ubuntu Dell laptop, but it had some resolution issues out of
the box.  I was able to get that fixed, but that broke the video (as in
codec related).  It's watchable now, but not great.
