[TriLUG] Motherboard Recommendations

I currently own an older Asus with the nvidia SLI chipset. I can't
really comment on the SLI as I have never gotten around to getting a
second video card.

I will say that I have had problems with Asus mother boards frying
and/or just not powering up anymore. Its been 3 times now and it always
seems to be just after the warranty or if there is a visible "fried"
component on the board it voids the warranty. This is after doing
nothing spectacular with the box, its on a UPS, and I have swapped out
seemingly working power supplies. Two other computers in the house
have been running just as long or longer and have had no problems.
(One not even on a UPS, one's and MSI, other being something from Dell)

The only reason I keep sticking with the Asus on this box is that the
drives are raided on the motherboard and at the time, just want it
to work again.
