Dell MD1000 / MD3000?

Connects via eSAS controller.

Configurable with either 300gb or 700gb drives.

Subject: [TriLUG] Affordable storage?

I lost two drives in two separate arrays, and one logical drive (not
good!!!), in the last three days and I need to get a more robust storage
system. We have some overheating issues in our server closet (stays
around 80 degrees for some reason though it used to stay around 70 with
the exact same a/c unit) and it's killing the sandwiched drives in the
arrays. These are home-grown boxen and I need to get an affordable
(<$7k) storage solution that will start with approx. 1TB and grow up to
5TB, if possible. I'm looking at the Clariion AX150, but have never used
EMC before.

Can anyone recommend a better solution in that price range?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Kevin
