[TriLUG] Newbie wanting to host web pages at home...

I put together some note on this for Fedora...

Basically, you need to find the apache configuration file.
/etc/[apache|httpd]/.../[apache2.conf|httpd.conf]
Therein you'll find the so called "document root" (e.g.
/var/www/html). Therein you also add your particular host names. I'm
not sure of a graphical editor for this file like IIS has. I'll try to
email a copy of that workbook as it might help with other questions
too like how to setup and backup a MySQL or PostgreSQL.

You might want to look at Screem and BlueFish as two FOSS htlm
editors... I'ven't looked at hotdog in years though.
