I've been using OpenDNS for my home, as well as, business DNS forwarding for well over a year now and have had no problems whatsoever. They also offer built-in phishing protection and content filtering (if you so choose).

Yes.  They currently have a major DNS outage affecting the whole SE
 region.
You can work around it by temporarily using OpenDNS servers:

nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220
