[TriLUG] Kubuntu/Ubuntu 7.10 Installation Trouble

Maybe saying I'd give it a shot 'tomorrow' was a bit ambitious,
however, John's resolution to my problem worked perfectly.

When I installed Kubuntu Fiesty, it correctly guessed my screen
resolution at 1440x900. My new install of Kubuntu Gutsy mangled it at
1280x1024.  After I changed the settings and updated the splash screen
my laptop boots much more rapidly.
