[TriLUG] fighting with Perl on Windoze

I'm learning Perl on Windows is a different beast...

Does anyone with working knowledge of Perl on Windows want to help me
install an MSDE module (yes, yes, I know)? I've used CPAN to try to
get such working, but I am getting dependency errors and when I try to
install the modules on which DBIx::MSSQLReporter is dependent, I still
get errors. You can see lots of the errors (DOS logs) at:

 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=693865
 and
 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=700626

The most recent one is
-----------------------------------
cpan> install DBD::ADO
Running install for module 'DBD::ADO'
Running make for S/SG/SGOELDNER/DBD-ADO-2.96.tar.gz
  Has already been unwrapped into directory C:\Perl\cpan\build\DBD-ADO-2.96-Cxyo
uJ
  'C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe Makefile.PL' returned status 65280, won't make
Running make test
  Make had some problems, won't test
Running make install
  Make had some problems, won't install
 ------------------------------------------------------------
 Why couldn't you just use MySQL and not MSDE Wasp barcode? Why, oh, why?

Thank you so much for the help. Working with MSDE has been a very
frustrating experience.
