Rather than change your whole distribution load the full citrix client for linux.  Find your server settings and put them in and connect directly.  Most Citrix installations do not require access through a vpn.  Your company may be using the Web Interface and the active x component may not be needed for your connection.

I'm downloading the "alternate" cd for Xubuntu to see how that works.
This machine works terribly with LiveCD's.  I always seem to get read
errors from them.  That probably means that the CD Drive isn't working
correctly.  We'll see how that goes.  Oh, and I've run Xubuntu Gutsy
on an emulator before and it worked fine.  Most stuff like wifi and
printer management are working with GUI's now, though I haven't really
tried it in the real world.
