download tarball

untar into your favorite directory (/usr/local/ is a good one, even
$HOME would work if it's just you)

create a new command button on your taskbar that points to <your
favorite directory>/firefox/firefox
(assuming gnome or kde -  you could always start a shell and execute it too)
