I had a similar impression when I last checked Nvu out.  It wasn't
nearly as intuitive to me as Dreamweaver, and had a few quirks, but it
was almost a "just works" WYSIWYG editor.  The output HTML was almost
correct too, and wasn't too hard to fix up afterwards.  Certainly better
than Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG output.

I haven't heard much on that front.  I thought it was a dead project
about 2 years ago when it hadn't been updated in at least a year.  I'm
not convinced that it isn't now either, as the user contribs include
2005 era distro packaging, and the current build advertises kernel
2.6.10 and/or Fedora 3.  Alas.

Digressing, I'm actually wondering about online editors that claim 100%
compliant output.  Editors like FCKEditor [1] and TinyMCE [2]. ...
Actually, I read that claim about 2 months ago, but I'm not seeing it
now.  Still, there might be an avenue there ...
