[TriLUG] What is the ATi equivalent of a nVidia GeForce 6800?

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to look at getting a new 3D card since my old GeForce2 Ti
card just won't do "Beyond the Red
Line"(http://www.game-warden.com/bsg/) since switching to Ubuntu(it
had some driver issues beforehand anyway).  So I was starting to look
at getting a new cheap(<$50) 3D card and was looking at the nVidia
GeForce 6800 but found out that Ubuntu likes ATi better.  Anyone know
or have a good comparison site so I can try to figure out what an
equivalent would be?
