Jason,

I believe all the major companies selling the wireless wan card service  will let you have at least a 2 week test period.
You could just sign up for the card/service and return it after you trip.

i'm going on a three day road trip and would very much like to have net access
for my t60 laptop without the hassle of finding free wifi on the open road.  if
anyone is willing to loan me their card in exchange for some cash money ping me
offline asap.  my lappy can dual boot linux and windows so it doesn't have to be
linux friendly (but bonus points if it is).
