Two main reasons:

1) the SC was getting used as a dumping ground by some recruiters (eg.
jobs not remotely involving Linux, jobs not remotely involving NC).
2) We responded to _all_ people asking to pass along job offers both
pointing them at the list if they wanted to join it and encouraging
them to attend a meeting and stand up with the announcement at the
beginning.

It's not that we don't like the idea of job postings. We just wanted
to make sure the list and steering committee weren't getting
abused.... and hopefully in the process encourage better job
postings/announcements.
